Our most awarded wine ever. With three Gold medals and six 95 point reviews by the most respected wine critics in Australia and UK the 2021 is just getting started. Our flagship Single Vineyard Shiraz. Eleven years ago we began our search for a truly iconic Barossa Shiraz vineyard. We are now excited to reveal the sixth vintage of ELIJAH* Eden Valley Shiraz! Hailing from the revered Fechner brothers’ Moculta vineyard in the Northern Eden Valley, it is a powerful wine incorporating new French oak from France’s oldest family cooperage, Leroi. Now available in three pack option with 10% off and free shipping!
How will this evolve over time? Elijah is a powerhouse showcase of the Eden Valley, a unique combination of elegance and intensity, powerful fruit with structure. My conviction and experience is that a wine that shows balance and dense structure early on will make for an age worthy wine worth cellaring. Elijah's layered tannins and brooding, dense nature will become even more complex with a further five to 10 years in the cellar." - Halliday's 2024 Cellaring Edition

95 Pts The Vintage Journal “Deep purple. Complex bouquet of dried blackberry, pepper, charcuterie, hints of violets. Full-bodied and savoury with plentiful al dente tannins supporting spicy blackberry notes. Lots of energy and drive on the palate with good freshness. Layered and intriguing, finishing long and savoury.” Drink now–2031
95pts + Featured in Halliday's 2024 Cellaring Edition "The 2021 Barossa vintage continues to deliver the goods! Sporting a super vibrant colour in the glass and detailed aromas of juicy plum, blueberry, exotic spice, wildflowers, dark chocolate, liquorice, vanillin oak, turned earth and charcuterie. Velvety plush in the mouth with powdery tannin and a wonderful fruit presence and flow; long and true. It's a cracker." - Dave Brookes, Halliday
95pts "Alluring notes of iodine mix with spiced black plums, raspberries and vanilla on the nose. It's brooding and needs air to flex its muscles. On the palate a rich core of fruit intertwines with savoury notes of coffee and fresh leather. The shape of wine is long and the flavours last. It needs time as it's a beautifully complex, full bodied red with a lot to offer, all the while remaining bouyant on the palate. A delicious modern shiraz." - Gabrielle Poy, The Real Review
2020:
GOLD MEDAL - 2022 Barossa Wine Show
GOLD MEDAL - 2022 Syrah du Monde, France
SILVER MEDAL - 2023 Decanter Wine Awards, UK
SILVER MEDAL - 2022 Decanter Wine Awards, UK
SILVER MEDAL - 2022 Melbourne International Wine Competition
95pts "Deep colour and a meaty/spicy/toasty and roast meat bouquet that is quite complex already. Some floral and regional dried herb notes, hinting at thyme and oregano. The wine is full bodied and concentrated, with ample firm tannins supplying structure and ageing potential. A serious red with loads of character." - Huon Hooke, The Real Review
94pts "Deep, purple-splashed crimson with notes of dark blackberry and ripe dark plums. Hints of baking spices, sage, black pepper, cassis, dark chocolate and graphite. There's a cassis-like richness to the fruit flow, densely packed granitic tannins and a chocolatey tide on the deep, black-fruited finish" - Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion
2019:
SILVER MEDAL - 2022 Decanter World Wine Awards
SILVER MEDAL - International Wine Challenge (London) "Ripe, intense blackberry fruit, a rich mouthful of ripe tannins and super-concentrated fruit. Spicy oak, very full-bodied with a powerful finish."
SILVER MEDAL - Sommeliers Choice Awards
95pts "Really youthful, deep and dark in the glass. Intense aromatics of blood plum, dark chocolate, vanilla bean, licorice, bouquet garni and Asian spice. The palate is opulently flavoured: really dark, plummy fruits, blackberries, chocolate, and layered. There's some lovely oak that plays it part as well. There's plenty going on in this wine: it is decadently flavoured, but the tannins and acidity do their thing and make sure the fruit behaves" - Aaron Brasher, The Real Review
95pts "Flagship wine from the higher Eden Valley, Polished and dark, Blackberry, clack cherry, sandalwood, incense smoke with vanila bean paste and mushroom fin earthiness." - Regan Drew, Wine Words
94pts "It’s the one wine in the Chaffey range that I routinely struggle with but this release is a ripper. It’s big and throaty but it’s creamy smooth too; it has both grain and slip, its inherent, grunty tannin rolling through asphalt, blackberry, gum leaf and toast. It’s both big on flavour and big on quality. This has been pushed to its limits, and has noticeable warm alcohol to show for it, but it remains complete and convincing." - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
2018:
SILVER MEDAL - Syrah du Monde (France)
2016:
GOLD - 95pts International Wine Challenge (London)
"Youthful with smoke and black fruit. Dark, intense, concentrated, velvety tannins. Soft-toned with notes of spice, blackfruit and dark cherry."
94pts "Inky, deep and dark red of blackcurrant fruit, booze-soaked berries, walnut whiffs and sweet spice. Lavish, lush texture, rolls around the palate nicely, lingers for what seems forever and has all that hustle of a big red wrapped in a velvety cloak of goodness. One for the big red lovers, but those who know the tightrope walk of flavour, freshness and winemaking balance" - Mike Bennie for WBM
93pts "This takes a bold, dark and rich stance on the nose and palate with chocolate, dark-plum and graphite aromas, leading to a ripe dark-berry core that is framed in long, supple and even tannins." - James Suckling
2015:
96pts "Deep colour and a rich, complex, earthy bouquet which features smoky, char-oak and other savoury nuances. There is terrific flavour here and excellent depth and weight. The wine is balanced and stylish, with savoury and fruit-sweet elements perfectly balanced. Black plums and savoury notes. The finish lingers on and on. A stylish and individual style of shiraz, and a gorgeous drink." - Huon Hooke

Hand harvested, gently whole bunch pressed, 25% completed ferment and matured in new sirugue french oak puncheon.
As always; unfined & vegan friendly.
Winemakers: Daniel Chaffey Hartwig, Huon Fechner + Theo Engela Varietal: Semillon Alc/Vol: 12.9% pH: 3.3 Acidity: 5.3 Bottle size: 750ml
2023 93pts "Old-vine, Madeira-clone semillon from the Fechner Vineyard in Eden Valley, wild ferment, 33% in Sirugue French oak puncheon on lees. Pale with a green flash and sporting lanolin-brushed characters of pithy lemon, honeysuckle, grilled cashew, clover blossom, soft spice, crushed quartz and distant marzipan. There's a slinky textural aspect with a touch of grapefruit pith and a real vitality to its minerally line. Great dry, textural drinking." - Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion
91pts"Lemony, waxy aromas along with nougat, butter and lemon curd. Textured, , mouth-filling and layered in flavour. Nutty, creamy and with a drive of lemon butter goodness. Long, grippy and with plenty to like here." - Aaron Brasher, The Real Review
2022 Trophy for BEST SEMILLON in show!!! 2024 Barossa Wine Show
Ranked #7 of 55 The Real Review Top Rank "Ultra-pale lemon and lime hues shine brightly through the glass. Waxed lemon and short crust pastry aromas. Light to medium in weight with beeswax, lemon zest and a touch of sherbet showing as it floats across the tongue. Good length and drive with bright yet supple acidity carrying it long to a crisp, dry finish with an attractive phenolic crunch." - Stuart Knox
93pts "Pale colour. Lifted exotic aromas; lemon curd, papaya, nectarine, tonic water, honey and subtle flinty overlay. Round and expressive with lemon curd, nectarine and tropical fruit notes. Wonderful mid-palate viscosity, creamy/lacy textures and an appealing honeyed acid line. Drink now and over the next couple of years." - Andrew Caillard MW, The Vintage Journal
93pts Silver "Light straw tones of Meyer lemon, spent yeast, honeysuckle, soft spice, lemon butter, clotted cream, crushed stone and white flowers. Textural, creamy and gloriously lemony with a swoop of gingerbread, roasted cashews and whey. Such lovely slinky drinking with a briny acid line that sets the saliva glands working and screams for a roast chook." - Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion 22nd May 2023
93pts "Medium pale lemon hue. Picks up where the 2021 left off with lemon curd and roast chicken skin, honeysuckle, candle wax and gingernut biscuit. Depth and heft: oak and lees work give creamy, leesy richness with ginger spice, fine phenolics and zesty citrus cuts. That briny signature leaves the palate in a dichotomy: salivating and refreshed both at once. Unique and worthy." - Regan Drew, Vino Notebook
"Brilliant, youthful yellow, with lemon zest, pastry, knife through cold butter aromas. Medium-weight, chunk of a glass of wine. Hits your pallet and doesn't forgive. Tangy with viscosity and lime, lemon, ruby grapefruit, green apple skin and powdery tannins. Flash of Solo, the original thirst crusher. That's Aussie soda 😉! So looong it touches my toes. Old vine Barossa sem. 2022. Benchmark stuff." - @frasermackenzie.wine
2021 SILVER - 2022 Barossa Wine Show
93pts "Medium pale lemon hue. Lemon curd, malt biscuit, ginger, roast nuts, roast chicken briny tang and with slightly sweeter structures of honeysuckle and birthday candle. Refreshing yet complex. The oak work giving nutty nuance with chewy phenolics while the well built fruit is ginger spiced, citrus focused and dry. There’s a very good counterpoint of weight and acidity creating a fundamentally delicious drink." - Regan Drew, vinonotebook.com
93pts "Barossa Valley old vine semillon, done right. Gosh this is good. It sees some oak and so, accordingly, it has some texture, but the flavour profile is all fruit, and all good. Brine, honeysuckle, citrus and stonefruit characters all get a good run here, the palate full-ish and the finish long. The perfume, the flavour, the feel; all are in tip-top nick here. I particularly love the briney aftertaste here, it just begs to be teamed with food." - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
92pts "An unusually wine-y and waxy, rich and textural style of semillon, but this also has an impressive freshness on the well-proportioned palate with quite an exciting interplay of creaminess and limey acidity. Wild fermented partly in French oak puncheons, then aged 6 months on the lees. Unfined. Vegan. Drink or hold. Screw cap." - James Suckling
90pts "
Pale and bright straw-yellow colour. Lemon curd, lime zest and caramelised cashews on the nose. The palate fills and builds texture as it flows, sweet lime and lemon fruit notes alongside a smoky and nutty spice line. Quite full for a semillon and it works." - Stuart Knox, The Real Review

92 pts " LUX VENIT roughly translates to "the light has come". Serious Rosé from old-vine Barossa Valley Grenache and Mourvèdre. Wild fermentation and maturation in French oak barrels for 3 months. Pale salmon in colour. Nose full of strawberries and cream, roasted nuts, cherry blossom and compote, stone fruit slices and cinnamon. Fleshy and full: generous rolls of flesh with fine focus and length. Bittersweet citrus and stone fruit edged with spice. Finishes bone dry with a good texture." - Regan Drew, vinonotebook.com
TOP RANK & 91pts "Sandalwood, red apple and cranberry aromas lure you in. The palate is plush, offering breadth and intense flavours of red berries. It offers dimension and intensity, and has an extra layer compared to other rosés. It's a delicious wine with layers of complexity." Gabrielle Poy, The Real Review
2022
91 pts "Old-vine grenache and mourvèdre from a vineyard in the Lyndoch foothills, down in the southern Barossa. Light salmon pink with red apple, red cherry, redcurrant and watermelon notes with hints of marzipan, raspberry, sage, berry cream, soft spice and redcurrant jelly. It's got a slinky gait across the palate, acidity keeping things in check and providing pulse, and it finishes dry, red-fruited and textural." - Dave Brookes, The Wine Companion
2021
92pts "Pale onion-skin-pink hue. Raspberry, sage and creamy aromatics. Soft and supple red berry fruit; there's a nice creamy flow through the middle to a reasonably lengthy finished" - Stuart Knox, The Real Review
91pts "Just a hint of redcurrant and a spicy note appear on the shy nose. The palate adds a riper, rounder tone to this, reminiscent of bottled strawberry that is both mellow and gently aromatic. There is a yeasty texture, too, that lends gentleness to the dry finish." - Falstaff International Global Rosé Trophy
90pts"Lush, textural style. Dry and spicy. A little alcohol heat pokes through; just a little. Pale, pale copper in colour. Orange jelly and raspberry, earth and spice. Almost a saline-like note here, as a positive. Serious style. Needs food. Something tapas-y." - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
2020
93 pts "Light to medium intense salmon-pink colour. Red cherries, cinnamon and anise spices lift from the glass. Quite deep and powerful with berry fruits and spices layered amongst notes of wood shavings and prosciutto. Good length and flow, acid keeps it controlled but this is definitely on the full side of the rosé spectrum. A more autumnal style." - Stuart Knox, The Real Review
93/100 "Medium salmon hue. Lifted red fruits: strawberry and raspberry with a dash of peach cream and savoury spice. Profound and serious palate, rich with the aforementioned red fruits, yet retaining lightness and energy through the long dry finish." - Regan Drew, Vino Notebook
Silver Medal & "Barossa Valley Rose Winery of the Year" - Melbourne International Wine Competition 2020
93/100 "Light to medium intense salmon-pink colour. Red cherries, cinnamon and anise spices lift from the glass. Quite deep and powerful with berry fruits and spices layered among notes of wood shavings and prosciutto." - Stuart Knox, The Real Review
2019 93/100 "Daniel and Theo apparently sang to it while it matured in barrel. Coral pink. This is an energetic wine, with a cool dusky musk base, replete with raspberry crystals and light peach stone fruit inferences. Wonderfully textural and refreshing, this is a cut above." - Regan Drew, Vino Notebook
93/100 "Strawberries and their leaves on the aromatics. Brightness and intensity on the palate entry, good acid and a touch of phenolic crunch keeps the flow to the back, and there's a creaminess to finish" - Stuart Knox, The Real Review

Airy and spacious with a meaty, savoury flow across the tongue, light chalky tannins tugging at the roof of the mouth and a lively, lacy line of acidity - Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion

2022
92pts "It took grenache roughly 150 years to become an overnight success in Australia but the glory days of Aussie grenache are upon us. This release is fresh, delicate, laced with dry spice and tannin, juicy with fruit, and high in drinkability. It feels authentic because it is. Raspberry characters with a glow to them. Earth notes inlaid. Everything on firm/sure tippy toes, ballerina-like, elevated and exact. There’s texture here too, warm texture, silk fresh from the ironing board, treated right. A lovely drink, it is." Campbell Mattinson, Wine Front

New Release 2023:
OMNIA NOVA* (All Become New) - Barossa Shiraz... reinvented.
Barossa's most famous and iconic varietal reimagined. The third release of Omnia Nova Syrah achieves our goal of reinventing the revered iconic lifeblood of the Barossa, the time-honoured classic Shiraz. Old vines harvested at modest ripeness, 15% whole bunches wild fermented. Minimal additions, brief 8 month elevage in 500 litre French oak puncheons and hogsheads.
Handcrafted with a focus on fruit purity combined with delicacy of structure; courtesy of 8 months maturation in seasoned French oak puncheons and hogsheads. It's crunchy, bunchy and vibrant... there's an unbridled energy about this wine. Its breezy aromatics entice, leading into a juicy, pillowy palate of fresh cranberries, lush blueberries and restrained jubey red fruits. Enjoy alongside anything roasted, smoked or barbecued. Sophisticated Syrah - New Wave Barossa.
*Also available in our Series Minimus range 4 pack.
93pts"A blend of two syrah sites: Rohrlach (Dorrien) and Noack (Springton); 15% whole bunch, eight months in oak, eight months in stainless steel. High-toned and flecked with violets and citrus blossom. There's a core of juicy plum and mulberry fruits with a base of exotic spice, amaro, earth and dried meats. Supple and powdery-tannined, with a bright seam of acidity driving things along." - Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion
93pts "From the Second Corinthians 5:17, the name means All Becomes New. It relates to the idea that this is Barossa Shiraz reinvented. Not a small task. 15% whole bunches, eight months in old French hogsheads. 270 dozen made. Purple/maroon in colour, the nose is a little bit exotic and alluring. Smoked meats, bay leaves, black fruits, chocolate and dried herbs. A supple and seductive texture here with balance, sleek tannins and very good length. Will provide pleasure for at least the next eight to 10 years. Does it reinvent Barossa Shiraz? Perhaps not, but what is far more important is that it really is delicious and impressive drinking. Drink now-2034." - The Vintage Journal
92pts + Silver "Complex nose of jammy blackberries, black cherries, cocoa powder, tar and pepper. Lush and silky." - Decanter World Wine Awards 2025
92pts "The name for this wine hails from ‘Corinthians’. Just 270 dozen made. The team used 15% whole bunches and the wine spent eight months in French oak hogsheads. A bright garnet hue, the nose reveals mushroom notes, red fruits, hints of damp forest floor, spices and cherries. A wine of medium length with juicy acidity, this is fresh and energetic. Will show improvement in the coming years. Drink now–2033" - Andrew Caillard MW & Ken Gargett, Vintage Wine Journal
91pts "Delicious, round and juicy with blackberries, dark cherries and roasted peppercorns on the nose. Medium-bodied with creamy tannins and texture. Fruity, with a relaxed core of spices on the palate and a generous finish." - James Suckling
2022
TROPHY WINNER! - Royal Adelaide Wine Show (Best Shiraz 2021 Vintage and Younger) ~ Also available in our Series Minimus 4-pack
92pts "A medium bodied, deliciously plush mashup of syrah from the Eden and Barossa Valleys, 17% whole bunches contributing exotic spice, amaro herbs and a touch of sinew to the tannin frame. Despite eight months in seasoned barrel, oak plays no major role in this wine and fruit and spice reign supreme, tending savoury on the persistent finish." - Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion
92pts "Polished and slick. Bright blueberry, violets, cranberry, chocolate nibs, plum halves, green peppercorn, sliced green olives and jubey red fruit with that singed orange zest note. The best of both worlds: smooth and crunchy! Young plump puppy fleshed fruit with herbal intrigue and tacky tannins. Deliciously drinkable." - Regan Drew, Vino Notebook
2021 92pts "A breezy six months in old French oak puncheons and around 15% whole bunches. I dig these sorts of wines. They're more about fruit purity and slurpiness than structural architecture. The Omnia Nova delivers nicely with spicy, plummy fruits in the blue and purple spectrum, some hints of orange rind, purple flowers, light amaro-tones and a dusting of cocoa powder. Built for drinkin' not thinkin'.” - Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion
92pts "Omnia Nova – all become new – is old vine Barossa shiraz made in a ‘nouveau’ style. It spends a brief stint in oak before promptly going into bottle and into the world. It has that ‘just made’ feel to it. It’s like tasting direct from a barrel/tank at a winery; it has that uber freshness, that ribald fruitiness, that blinding immediacy. It’s a wonderful impression for a wine to make. Plums, cloves, mints and assorted sweet spice characters make for a high energy, highly delicious red wine. Yes please. It’s a great drink. ‘Nuff said." - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
92pts "
A peppery and energetic shiraz with notes of peppercorns, fresh blackberries, thyme and bay leaves. It’s medium-bodied with bright acidity and fine tannins providing a fresh and precise frame." - James Suckling

*New vintage 2021 SUPERBAROSSA is here! 93pts - Andrew Caillard MW - The Vintage Journal, 2024 Barossa Edition

Cabernet Shiraz... quite possibly Australia's most iconic red blend. A true example of where 1+1=3... where the synergy of the two varieties, becomes greater than the sum of its parts. The elegance of the Cabernet offers inky black berry fruit and cassis whilst the structured Shiraz contributes rich plum and strawberry red fruits. It's textured, multidimensional, rich, complex and oh so balanced.
2021 is a benchmark vintage for the Barossa, and the quality was second-to-none for both Cabernet & Shiraz. Red wines from 2021 have been dubbed: ultra high quality, limited supply. These wines will be in demand for many years to come...
Crack open a bottle and serve it up with some super slow roasted lamb, some sticky barbecued ribs, or a humble piece of aged Gouda (complete with the lil' salt crystals and all)... oohhh yea!
Winemakers: Daniel Chaffey Hartwig + Huon Fechner + Theo Engela
93pts"Deep crimson. Restrained fragrant bouquet of red- and blackcurrant, blackcurrant leaf, and white pepper. Bright, fruit forward and juicy. Lovely buoyancy and energy, good freshness and vibrant blackberry fruit. Tannins are polished and well-integrated. Excellent balance. Drink now–2028" The Vintage Journal
93 pts "Deep crimson. Drink now–2028 13.9% alc" Dave Brookes, HALLIDAY WINE COMPANION
93pts " The classic Aussie blend from a classic vintage, equals one rollicking, good time kind of wine. Combines old vines sourced from the Rohrlach Vineyard at Dorrien with some nicely integrated oak – 18 months in French hogsheads – and the effect is one smart charmer of a four-year-old. It’s got a big future ahead of it. Super expressive from the first sniff of dark plums, blackberry and blue fruits and a heady collection of baking spices. Cabernet brings a touch of class with its herbals, briar and blackcurrant, not to mention those striking fine, supple tannins. Shiraz fills the middle with its sweet fruit presence, blackcurrant pastille notes and overall generosity. It’s a lovely marriage and the best part? Every time you return to the glass you note something different – the violet aromatics, that touch of bitter dark chocolate, that hint of Barossa earth and touch of leaf." - Jenni Port, Winepilot
91pts"Opaque purple with an ermine rim. Fleshy nose: Choc mint, turned earth, blackcurrant (and blackberry on the pull-away), a hint of cooling mint with camphor, licorice, blood plum, graphite and a little sweet oak. Sapid and initially flowing with generosity before a neat hall runner of velvety tannins. There’s a fine tartness that ensures balance to the flesh. Enjoyable drinking now." Regan Drew, vinonotebook.com
91pts "
Aromas of blackberries, chocolate, violets and blueberries. The palate is mid-weighted with firm tannins and a plush and robust mouthfeel. Generous and rustic." - James Suckling
2020
92pts "A Barossa Cabernet Shiraz in full voice combining the ripe and the juicy with some attractive savouriness. No one grape dominates the blend, this is a 50-50 partnership, but in taste there seems to be just a little more obvious Shiraz sweet generosity, especially across the middle palate. While it may not be the most complex, it does lay everything out before you, open and inviting, in black fruits, plum, briar, earth, leather (imagine sitting in a comfy old leather lounge) fuelled by coffee, mocha oak notes. It offers a lovely, big mouthful of Barossa typicity. The black pastille moment on the finish is just so delicious. Museum release." - Jeni Port, Winepilot
92pts "Ermine purple with bright rim. Choc/mocha, pink salt, blood plum, cabbage rose heart, big day old raspberries, cassis to blackberry and even some fresh bay leaf aromatics. Feels Cabernet dominant (even with the even split) with tight, fine, velvety tannins and a herbaceous (but not green) echo. Plenty of ripe dark fruit flesh to satisfy those seeking opulence rather than anemia. Maybe could even do a couple of years in the cellar." - Regan Drew, Vino Notebook
91pts "The classic Aussie blend: 50/50% shiraz/cabernet sauvignon from Dorrien in the central Barossa Valley. Deep crimson with vibrant fruit tones of blackberry, dark cherry, blood plum and some lighter blackcurrant pastille notes. Plenty of spicy depth with hints of licorice, dark chocolate, fruitcake, earth and graphite. Plenty of fruit depth with some herbs flowing in on the palate, Velvety, rich and opulent with a powdery tannin grip and a black-fruited finish" - Dave Brookes, Halliday
90pts – “Dark ruby with a touch of fade into the rim. Cassis, bay leaf and iodine aromatics. Dark and weighty black fruits that fills the mouth with a rich velvet tannin profile that keeps it gliding long into the finish. There's a deft touch here.” – Stuart Knox, The Real Review
2018
93/100 "Very deep red/purple colour, with a rose-petal overtone to the crushed blackberry and mulberry fruit aromas. Very attractive. Cabernet shows through, here. Concentrated and plush but light on its feet: a delicious red wine, already drinking nicely." - Huon Hooke, The Real Review
2016 95/100 "Very deep purple/red colour, with an intensely spicy aroma which reveals a lot of char-oak notes. The flavour is full and rich, concentrated, fruit-sweet and well-rounded, with some alcohol warmth and a punchy finish. A real mouthful of deliciousness." - Huon Hooke
92+ "A mix of old and new school. Deep, dark, dense fruit; toffeed/malt-like oak characters; both leather and tar aspects. All this will keep lovers of Barossa Valley reds well and truly happy. But there are also florals notes, a run of juicy boysenberry, and bright tips of mint. In short: it’s hefty, hearty and well styled." - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
2015 91 pts "Big-ish wine but it remembers its manners. Blackcurrant, sweet plum, boysenberry and coffee-cream flavours. There’s plenty to hook into here. Oak lends the wine a slippery smoothness; cabernet contributes fruit but also dust-like notes and a certain stringiness to the tannin. Shiraz helps sweeten and plump it all out. It doesn’t quite feel cohesive but it’s young." - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
91/100 "Raw with fruit and oak but generous of both. Coffee-cream, blackberry and sweet plum flavours jumble their way through the palate. It doesn't feel seamless but there's plenty here to latch onto." - Campbell Mattinson, Halliday
93/100 "Good depth and hue of colour, with a lifted ginger spice aroma, which includes some eucalytpus mint. The wine is intense and sull in the mouth, firm and elegant and showing the cabernet influence in structure as much as flavour. There's abundant fruit sweetness in the mid-palate followed by drying tannins and a clean, persistent finish. A very smart blend." - Huon Hooke, The Real Review
2014
GOLD MEDAL - Great Australian Red, 2015
93/100 "Bruising style. Oak, fruit and tannin; hefty serves of all three. Blackberries, tar, black earth and malt characters slip into mint, violet and bright raspberry. It's the epitome of the mouthfilling style."- Campbell Mattison, Halliday
2013
SILVER MEDAL - Great Australian Red, 2014
94/100 "Stern but flavoursome. Strings of smoky, minerally tannin are visible throughout, yet the drama of the fruit still plays to good effect. Blueberry, coffee, blackberry and violet-like notes. It lifts and expands as it breathes in the glass/bottle; a stint in the decanter does it no harm." - Halliday
